How did you find yourself in the advertising industry, and what’s been the best part of your journey at VMO so far?

Though my studies and early experience was in Architecture, I ended up in the media world and I haven’t looked back. In terms of the best part of my journey at VMO, I think it’s hard to argue against our 2024 conference that was held in Queenstown and the Brisbane ValFronts event, however there have been so many other great moments too.

What’s one work tip or hack you swear by that makes your day smoother?

I figured out a week into working in media that being a mental diary person wasn’t going to work. So writing a to-do list at the start of each week has been really valuable in staying organised and gives a nice sense of achievement as I tick each task off.

If you could swap roles with someone in the business, who would it be and why?

I really like what Stefan and John work on in the research team. I’m big on analytics and the number side of things. I love what we’re able to extrapolate and build from our DART technology and data partners.

What would you do differently, if you were given the chance?

Apart from not buying Bitcoin when I first got told to or betting the house on Leicester winning the Premier League in 2015/2016, I’m going to be super cliché and say nothing. I feel like everything I’ve done up until this point is a part of the journey and is what makes me who I am.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self starting out in your career?

I’d say just focus on the things you can control and how you can put your best foot forward and the rest will fall into place.

If you could master a new skill instantly, what would it be and how would you use it at work?

I’d have to say cooking. As much as the results say otherwise, I really enjoy the process and would love to stretch my wings beyond a spaghetti bolognese and the odd set of teriyaki noodles.

What is your must-have office snack that helps you get through the workday?

I mostly try to stay away from things that are bad for me, but my weakness is a Pepsi Max at lunch. It’s certainly an integral part of the work routine and I can’t see that changing anytime soon.

What is a fun fact about yourself that many may not know?

I’m ambidextrous.

Finally, spill the tea (or coffee): What’s your go-to coffee order and what does it say about your personality?

I’m a bit hot and cold with coffee, some days I love it, some days I’ll pass. When I am in the mood for one though, Brisbane temps allow me to enjoy an iced latte all year round.
