How did you find yourself in the advertising industry, and what’s been the best part of your journey at VMO so far?
I fell into advertising, just like everyone else says they did. It came about after studying teaching at university for a year, which turned out to be not for me and prompted me to look for something different. I’ve never looked back since!
The best part of the VMO journey so far has been working with the team that I’ve admired for years! They truly are the best in the biz.
What’s one work tip or hack you swear by that makes your day smoother?
I re-write my to-do list daily. I write it out in the order that I want to complete things and make sure that I attack the biggest and hardest tasks first so I don’t keep putting them off.
If you could add one item to the office kitchen, what would it be and why?
It would definitely be an infinite jar of chocolate coated scotch finger biscuits. They’re my biggest weakness!
What would you do differently, if you were given the chance?
There’s nothing major that I would do differently that I can think of. Every decision that I have made so far has led me to a pretty great spot and I’m a huge believer that everything happens for a reason.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self starting out in your career?
Start making connections as early as possible. You never know when you may cross paths again and how valuable that connection could be one day.
If you could master a new skill instantly, what would it be and how would you use it at work?
I would master all the different Excel formulas as they would absolutely make my life 100x easier. I’ve only just gotten the hang of the ‘count if’ formula!
If you could host a dream dinner party, which three famous people (alive or not) would you invite and why?
I’m a very mainstream pop music guy, so my three would probably be Ariana Grande, Kylie Minogue & Sabrina Carpenter. My mission is to get them all to do a song together.
Finally, spill the tea (or coffee): What’s your go-to coffee order?
An iced latte - every single day, even in the middle of winter.
